Crocodile tears as food aid blockade continues in Horn of Africa

ASMARA, Eritrea–As predicted here in Intrepid Report, crocodile tears have begun to run down the faces of the likes of Anthony Lake, CIA director nominee turned executive director of UNICEF, as some 15 million people starve in the Horn of Africa. Tony Lake appeals to the world for tens, no, hundreds of millions of dollars to save the starving people of Ethiopia and Somalia, never once telling you that the majority, some 10 million, are in the Ogaden and Oromia regions and being subjected to a Western-funded food aid blockade by the Ethiopian military. Ethiopia buys arms as millions starve

ASMARA, Eritrea—Ethiopia is on another arms buying spree as millions of Ethiopians starve due to the worst drought in 60 years. According to Prime Minister Meles Zenawi, Ethiopia is purchasing 200 battle tanks from Ukraine for over $100 million. Was it a coincidence that the day before Meles’ announcement, the British foreign aid office announced a $60 million “emergency food aid donation” to Ethiopia? Continue reading

ASMARA, Eritrea—As the UN famine warning center issues urgent reports that millions of Ethiopians are once again starving in the Somali populated Ogaden, the International Committee of the Red Cross publishes a statement that the Ethiopian government has denied the Red Cross an operating permit to carry out relief work in the region. Blocking the Red Cross from relief work somewhere is almost unheard of, yet when it comes to Ethiopia, headed by the G-20 “statesman” Meles Zenawi, this is business as usual. Continue reading

Libya charges NATO massacre of religious leaders

Asmara, Eritrea—On Saturday morning, May 14, in a press conference broadcast on a Libyan satellite T.V. channel, government spokesperson Moussa Ibrahim presented strong evidence that a massacre of Libyan religious leaders by NATO was carried out in the oil port of Brega.
