We are taking a break for the holidays

It’s that time of year to spend time with family and friends, which we shall be doing. Intrepid Report will resume publishing on January 6, 2014.

As usual, I will be checking email, so writers may continue submitting articles that aren’t time sensitive.

I will be doing the Meria Heller Show on December 31. Tune in for some lively discussion.

With the economy in the tank, despite what Washington and the corporate media spout about how good things are, donations from readers, who are our lifeblood, have barely covered expenses. To maintain Intrepid Report’s independence, we neither receive nor want funding from corporations or foundations, but we need your help to keep it that way. So, if Intrepid Report is important to you and you can spare a few dollars, please make a donation to keep us going in 2014.

We have been here for you for more than 15 years: first as Online Journal and now as Intrepid Report. Our focus is not on ideology but on countering the lies, omissions, half-truths and disinformation served up by the corporate media. We will take truth wherever we find it and from whoever provides it because we believe a free and democratic society requires an informed people.

Thanks to the greed of the ultra-wealthy who run the corporations and banks, and own the politicians, America is not only teetering on the edge of fascism but so are our friends abroad. The same greedy hands are at work around the globe raining down pain on the people and destroying the planet in the process. It is up to us, the common folks, to unite and put an end to their madness. Please stand with us and help us.

Whatever you celebrate in these last days of 2013—Christmas, Festivus, Kwanzaa—may you find joy and comfort in family and friends, and may 2014 be the turning point in restoring our freedom and democracy.

  1. Thank you and well done, all of you
the equivalent of the town crier

only it’s not the British coming, this time
we must steel ourselves, for the battle ahead

let’s hope this one is fought with words
it’s about time and is imperative for our survival

we are all on the same planet, alone in the void
all’s we have is each-other we need to realize that
