‘She gets things done’

The mantra for some of Hillary Clinton’s supporters is that they will vote for her because, “she gets things done.” Although I have to admit that having someone in the White House that gets things done is a plus but, one must ask, what does she get done and who does it benefit?

It is no secret that Hillary has been receiving large amounts of contributions to her campaign from corporate and Wall Street “friends.” Bernie Sanders has, on several occasions, emphasized this fact and suggested that when these folks contribute thousands of dollars to her campaign, they certainly expect something in return.

Hillary has already received over $300,000 from the oil and gas industry for her campaign. Is it mere coincidence that she has on her campaign staff a lobbyist for ExxonMobil?

Can we also say, that as secretary of state, her attempts to influence other countries to use fracking as part of their energy program, had nothing to do with her business relationship with the oil and gas industry?

Anna Rebrii points out that she, Hillary, also worked on deals to expand fossil fuel development in Mexico and was part of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations which strangely does not address climate change concerns and empowers fuel companies to bypass local regulations.

Then we come to Hillary’s email revelations. As secretary of state, it was revealed, Hillary Clinton colluded with executives at Google to launch a digital PR onslaught against the president of Syria, Bashar al Assad. Google in 2012 sought to help insurgents overthrow Syrian President Bashar Assad, according to State Department emails. Messages between former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s team and one of the company’s executives detailed the plan for Google to get involved in the region.

As a result of Hillary’s active participation in Syria, we have a humanitarian crisis in that country which has affected hundreds of thousands of people.

But Hillary is not a one-time regime changer. She has an expansive history in looking to change governments in other countries, including governments that have been democratically elected.

In 2009, in Honduras, army officers trained by the Washington-funded School of the Americas, took democratically elected Honduran President Manuel Zelaya prisoner. What was Zelaya’s crime? He was a socialist attempting to improve the lives of the native people of Honduras. This made the Chiquita Brands International unhappy because his efforts would affect their bottom line and their monopoly status in that country. Chiquita, at that time, owned 50% of all private land. Who was the secretary of state that oversaw this coup? Hillary Clinton.

In 2011, in Libya, there was a successful coup against Muammar Gaddafi. A message from Hillary Clinton’s private email server reveals that France and the United Kingdom both sought to control Libya’s oil in the days after the U.S.-backed coup in 2011.

An email sent on Sept. 16, 2011 to Clinton, then the U.S. secretary of state, from journalist and family friend Sidney Blumenthal, shows that French President Nicolas Sarkozy and British Prime Minister David Cameron each traveled to Tripoli about one month after Muammar Gaddafi’s government fell in order to assert their claim on Libya’s energy reserves.

The United States, France, U.K. and other NATO allies backed “rebel” forces in Libya that ousted Gaddafi in August 2011, in what was widely reported to be a “humanitarian intervention” against a government that was falsely accused to have a history of severe human rights abuses.

Clinton played a major role in convincing allied nations to join in the attacks, and after Gaddafi was killed that October, she boasted during a break in an interview for CBS, “We came, we saw, he died.”

However, far from improving conditions, the fall of Libya’s government left what was once an economically prosperous nation in chaos and disarray.

A sinister atmosphere surrounds the Clinton Foundation’s role in the Ukrainian military coup of February 2014, experts point out. It has recently turned out that Ukrainian oligarch Viktor Pinchuk, a vocal proponent of Ukraine’s European integration, made huge contributions to the Clinton Foundation, while Hillary Clinton was the US secretary of state. Viktor Pinchuk is a Ukrainian businessman and ex-parliamentarian who, by the way, is reported to have contributed $8.6 million to the Clinton Foundation between 2009 and 2013.

The U.S., with the active participation of Hillary Clinton, played an important role in the coup against the then president, Viktor Yanukovich, who was ousted mainly because he wanted to maintain close ties to Russia rather than join NATO.

It is clear that Hillary gets things done, but are these the things we, the people, want done? Her achievements seem to favor the rich and powerful and one must ask, what will she get done as president?

Hillary recent address to AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) should be a measure as to what to expect.

Predictably, she condemned the Palestinians but her condemnation of Palestinian “terrorism” omitted any reference to the fact that Israel is the occupier of what is left of Palestinian lands, colonizing them, seizing their water and land, brutalizing the residents and continuing the selective blockade of Gaza. Hillary was successful in acting as if she was unaware of the Israeli daily brutalization of Palestinians, including the children. This from someone who claims to want to protect the children of this world.

Hillary did promise that if she is president, she will continue to use our tax dollars to provide Israel with the latest military weapons; weapons that will be used against Palestinian children who throw stones. For the record, Israel is an economic, technological and military powerhouse that provides Israelis with universal health insurance and other social safety nets that are denied the American people.

She continued to voice her belief that the international BDS efforts against Israel’s ethnic cleansing program is an expression of anti-Semitism. This means that no one can challenge Israel’s behavior and policies without being anti-Semitic. She is not naive and she knows better but the agenda called for ass-kissing and she was willing to provide it.

Hillary did not save her belligerent rhetoric only for the Palestinians. She aimed a good deal at Iran while she bragged about the crippling sanctions imposed on that country by the U.S. She also threatened military force if Iran were to violate any part of the nuclear agreement, no matter how small. Yet for decades Israel has violated numerous U.N. resolutions to withdraw its occupation and repression of Palestinians without a murmur from Secretary of State Clinton.

In Haiti, people work for peanuts. Slave wages. Less than $5 per day, but they supply the U.S. with tons of affordable clothing from big-name brands like Levi’s, Hanes and Polo. Haiti’s big advantage, compared to Asia, is their proximity to us, and thousands of Haitians are employed in the textile industry in part because of that. When Haiti passed a wage raise from 24 cents per hour to 61 cents per hour, American companies were predictably outraged.

U.S. companies, especially the clothing manufacturers, outsource their manufacturing to places like Haiti specifically because they can get away with paying slave wages. They would only support a minimum wage increase to 31 cents per hour, and decided to get the U.S. Department of State involved to try and pressure Haiti’s government to keep the wage raise down.

This took place in 2011, and Hillary Clinton was the secretary of state. Our corporations were successful, and Haitians continued to work for worse slave wages than they otherwise would have, all so U.S. corporations could take home higher profits.

In closing, let me remind you that Hillary voted in favor of the U.S. invasion of Iraq and, as secretary of state, supported the escalation of war in Afghanistan. She pressured Obama to arm the Syrian rebels who, it appears, are mostly mercenaries and members of al-Qaeda and al- Nusra.

Truth be told, Hillary doesn’t appear to be able to find a military action she doesn’t like. If anyone is capable of getting us into WW3, it’s Hillary. YES INDEED, SHE CERTAINLY GETS THINGS DONE!!

GOD BLESS AMERIKA AND THE UNITED STATES OF AMNESIA!!!
