Ed Norton occupies the world

Anyone who ever saw The Honeymooners episode from the mid 1950s: The Man From Space, check out what our soldiers are wearing while occupying countries. They resemble Ed Norton in his sewer worker’s uniform, who resembled some sort of man from outer space. Either way, the sight of our soldiers breaking into the homes of occupied Iraqis or Afghans, with 20 pounds of equipment and those gadgets on their heads, is really disheartening. I don’t think that Orwell, in his wildest dreams, could have created such a vision of a police state gone mad.

Similar to SWAT teams, our Army, with its camouflage and super killer guns and ammo, is too much for this writer to bear. Folks, we are NOT at war, and have not been since WW2 . . . period!

Isn’t it sad that so few of our fellow citizens either realize or care that over 50% of all of our federal taxes goes for the above crap? Obama, parroted by Trump and Clinton, just like Junior Bush, is proud to push for more and more revenue for overkill weapons systems and unnecessary aircraft and naval vessels . . . as if we don’t already have enough to fight wars for a lifetime.

Have all those drone missile attacks done anything to protect us here at home? The more we stay all over the world with our jackboots on other nations’ civilians, thus the reason (to answer the stupid question by the equally stupid Bush) ‘Why they hate us.’

Meanwhile, the Pentagon and its contractor whore corporations spend your hard earned money on bullshit! Read the late Major General Smedley Butler’s War is a Racket book and understand that this con job has been going on for over 100 years folks! It will never stop until you out there say, ‘Enough is enough.’

The nerve of all those fools in our Congress, our administration and of course the two jackasses running for president, to sermonize about Flint, Michigan. The pot calling the kettle black to criticize all the so-called public servants in Michigan who did nothing to help get A) safer drinking water and B) safer pipes for Flint and elsewhere. Well, imagine if Uncle Sam did not spend half our tax revenues on instruments of war and empire, and instead sent it to Michigan for better infrastructure and safer drinking water.

You can use the same argument for allowing ALL Americans the opportunity to have the same Medicare as our seniors . . . just for starters . Taking those Ed Norton lookalikes out of those 1,000 military bases worldwide, and closing many of them down would perhaps subsidize local community owned and operated nonprofit banking. Imagine getting a mortgage for just the 1% that goes for overhead? Imagine the credible economic stimulus that would transition from that? Millions of renters would now own their own apartments and homes . . . with affordable mortgage payments. Need I go on and on?

Empires fold up when either they get overrun or their citizens have had enough. No one is preaching the ‘R’ word here. We need to first educate our fellow citizens with nothing more than the truth. Our mainstream media will never play a part in that. No, more and more of us must continue to seek out the alternative media to find out what is really happening and what is really true. Our military personnel , whether it be the grunts, the officers or the big shots in Washington, need to begin to speak truth to power and say NO to empire.

Being a real patriot is not wearing or waving our flag. It is respecting the Bill of Rights and the Constitution, and remembering “Dissent is the lifeblood of democracy.”
