The Russians are coming, oy vey, the Russians are coming

I was reluctant to use an ethnic expression but I felt that the Yiddish expression “oy vey” was a better reflection of the panic that has gripped this country.

It is not that the Donald has won the “election” alone that’s creating the panic, it’s that the Russians, through their so-called hackers, have interfered with the US “democratic” election process.

It appears that the CIA, that bastion of truth and honesty, has verified the claim that the Russians did in fact hack into the computers and emails of the Democratic National Committee, including those of Hillary Clinton, attempting to help Trump win the presidential election.

The problem with this allegation, which is sending people into a state of hysteria, is that the intelligence agencies do not have specific intelligence showing officials in the Kremlin “directing” the identified individuals to pass those emails in question to WikiLeaks. According to one US official, the hackers were “one step” removed from the Russian government.

I don’t know about you, but I have no idea what “one step” removed from the government means. The bottom line, as verbalized by several senators, is that there is no clear evidence to support the allegation. In fact, Craig Murray, Britain’s former ambassador to Uzbekistan and a close friend of Julian Assange, has now confirmed that he knows the identity of the person who leaked the DNC and Podesta emails to WikiLeaks, and that this person is not Russian and has no connection to the Russian government.

As Christopher Alan Driscoll points out in his posting on Facebook, “This is exactly the way the CIA spread lies in Yugoslavia to drum up ethnic hatreds and split that country into pieces.

“This is the way the CIA spread lies in Ukraine to drum up religious and ethnic hatreds that has split that country into pieces and caused a devastating war of chaos and destruction.

“This is the way the CIA spread lies in Syria to drum up religious and ethnic hatreds that has split that country into pieces and caused a devastating war of chaos and destruction.”

According to David Smith of the Guardian, the emails in question have uncovered Clinton’s lucrative Wall Street speeches, fresh questions over a conflict of interest with the Clinton Foundation, and alleged advance warnings of debate questions. But there have been few revelations likely to alter the course of the race for the White House.

Then there was the WikiLeaks release of the DNC emails that illustrated the DNC’s attempt to undermine the Sanders’ campaign with the knowledge and cooperation of the Clinton campaign.

The emails show the hostility simmered from top DNC officials over the Sanders’ campaign. Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver said that the emails show “what many of us have known for some time, that there were certainly people at the DNC who were actively helping the Clinton effort and trying to hurt Bernie Sanders’ campaign.” This effort by the DNC belies the national party committee’s stated neutrality in the race.

Some examples of the DNC’s biased behavior included:

  • Comments from party leader, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, were clearly meant to question Sanders‘ connection to and understanding of the Democratic Party.
  • When the Sanders campaign alleged that the Clinton campaign was improperly using its joint fundraising committee with the DNC to benefit itself, Clinton campaign lawyer Marc Elias offered the DNC guidance on how to respond. Elias’s guidance isn’t perhaps all that shocking; he’s Clinton’s lawyer, after all. But the fact that he was talking to the DNC about how to respond would appear to suggest coordination between the DNC and Clinton campaign against Sanders in this particular case.

There are many other examples regarding the DNC’s attempts to neutralize Bernie Sanders but that is not my concern other than to point out the corrupt behavior within the so-called “democratic process” that Russia is accused of influencing.

Once again, we are being diverted from looking inward at a system that is corrupt and often criminal. It is easier to focus on Russia as the villain. It is not Russia that casts a shadow on the “democratic process” here in the US, it is the participants of this system that have bastardized the democratic process.

Here we are, worrying about Russia’s influence on the past election and ignoring the fact that we have corporate America and Wall Street buying “our” politicians so that regardless of who is elected, it is not anyone who will represent the interest of working people and the indigent.

It is not Russia that is responsible for the unemployment or underemployment of millions of Americans. It is not Russia that caused the foreclosure on the homes of millions of people. It is not Russia that refuses to give us a health care system that allows all Americans to enjoy the benefits of affordable medical care. It is not Russia that has created an educational system that is failing our children and bankrupting them if they choose to attend college.

NO!! It is those we elect to office that are responsible for these conditions. WHY? Because they are not in office to protect our interests. They are the lackeys of the ruling class, people who, for some reason, seem to be accumulating more and more wealth while the working people of this country struggle to survive.

And still, we are hysterical about whether or not Russia hacked into some computers. SHAME ON US FOR ALLOWING THEM TO DISTRACT US WITH THIS BULLSHIT.

The enemy is not Russia or Syria, or Iraq, or Libya, or Cuba it is right here in this country. There is a reason why the US always seems to have an enemy, an enemy that “threatens” our way of life, an enemy against whom we must all mobilize, an enemy, ladies and gentlemen, that prevents us from realizing that the true enemies of the people are the men in the corporate offices and the men in the seats of power.

It is ironic that while the US claims that Russia is trying to influence “our” election process, the US had been in Chile to overthrow the democratically elected Allende government, in Venezuela attempting to overthrow the democratically elected Chavez government, had made over 600 attempts to assassinate Fidel Castro, had overthrown Saddam Hussein’s government in Iraq, helped to overthrow Muammar Gaddafi’s government in Libya, helped to overthrow the democratically elected government of Viktor Yanukovych in the Ukraine, and is currently attempting to overthrow the government of Bashar al-Assad in Syria.

I could go on with many more examples of US intervention in the politics and business of other countries but that is not the immediate purpose of this writer.

People are seeking a rationale to cancel the outcome of the 2016 election. Trump scares the hell out of many people. Trump scares me as well. But, we just spent 8 years under Obama’s leadership and have witnessed the bombing and destruction of 7 different countries, the expansion of a drone program that may be responsible for 3,000 to 5,000 deaths of innocent people, the Tuesday morning meetings in which Obama and his advisors meet to draw up a list of people, who they judge to be threats to US security, who will be targeted for assassination, the militarization of local police forces, etc.

Not a peep nor a whimper from the electorate. I don’t know about you, but Obama scares the hell out of me, as does Hillary whose initial response, on foreign policy, to most issues is to bomb them, whoever them happen to be at that moment. She has threatened Russia, Iran, and Syria and would likely precipitate WW3. She also scares the hell out of me.

The point is this, it matters not whose ass covers the seat in the Oval Office, they have the agenda of the ruling class to fulfill. It’s the system that must attacked and changed.

DON’T WEEP, ORGANIZE!!

GOD BLESS AMERIKKKA!!

  1. Not sure who Christopher Alan Driscoll is, but his statement is an example of how the MSM twists the facts in order to sculpt the storyline to support an agenda. It is well known that the CIA created turmoil in Syria but the statement that “split that country into pieces and caused a devastating war of chaos and destruction” is patently false. Few if any nations in the world have an environment where the highest level official is elected with over 95% approval. This is what occurred in the last election of Bassad. One could go on citing a variety of examples, i.e., Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban, to support this assertion but will simply reference the following link to support the point that the country is indeed even more united now to battle the axis of destruction (US/NATO). The link is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seVbyg-JFSQ

  2. Wonderful report on the current state. Around the clock now if anything is wrong corporate media say it is the fault of Russians.
