Tyranny in America

America was never the land of the free and home of the brave from inception—far from it.

Post-9/11 tyranny ended fundamental freedoms, remaining ones perhaps headed toward elimination.

America’s agenda includes imperial aggression, torture as official policy, targeted assassinations, Big Brother spying, warrantless searches, war OF terror, not on it, US communities turned into battlegrounds, militarized police, indefinite detentions based on spurious charges, and police state harshness targeting nonbelievers.

Fabricated terror threats drive political discourse. So do phony claims about Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and other sovereign independent countries threatening no one.

A climate of fear is perpetuated to justify unjustifiable US war on humanity—at home and abroad. Privileged interests are served exclusively at the expense of social justice—targeted for elimination.

Speech, media and academic freedoms are threatened—hallmarks of tyranny, initially defined as rule by individuals lacking legitimacy.

Al Gore and John Kerry won America’s 2000 and 2004 presidential elections respectively. Yet Bush/Cheney served in the nation’s highest office for eight years.

Obama was handed the presidency, McCain/Palin a laughable GOP ticket chosen to lose, not win.

Trump triumphed in 2016 because enough deep state monied interests decided he’d serve them better than Hillary.

Despite endless dominant media criticism, angry about his triumph over their favorite, he didn’t disappoint—handing powerful US interests the keys to the kingdom, so to speak.

US elections are farcical. Ordinary people have no say whatever, voting a waste of time. Dirty business as usual always wins.

Names and faces change. Deplorable policies remain fixed, undemocratic Dems as anti-progressive, pro-war, and repressive as Republicans.

America’s founders created a government of men, not laws, ruling by arbitrary power.

Dominance today includes controlling the narrative, propaganda substituting for truth-telling, major media pushing the subterfuge, keeping the public uninformed, misinformed and disinformed.

One-party US rule with two right wings mocks legitimate democratic principles. Due process and judicial fairness in court proceedings are only afforded America’s privileged class.

Republicans and undemocratic Dems govern extrajudicially, their agenda serving special interests at the expense of world peace, law and order and social justice.

Deep-seated fascism flourishes, wrapped in the American flag, notably under the Clintons, Bush/Cheney, Obama and Trump.

Its common themes include imperial lawlessness, lip service alone to rule of law principles and democratic values, disdain for human and civil rights, inventing nonexistent existential threats, obsession with national security, corporate predation, worker exploitation, and a controlled mass media.

A same day article discussed Sputnik News affiliate RIA Global ordered to register as a foreign agent by the Justice Department.

RT America was targeted the same way, ominous steps perhaps ahead of banning Russian media in America, maybe independent journalism to follow.

Russia’s US embassy responded to the latest hostile Trump administration action, calling the repressive targeting of its media “inadmissable . . . another blow (to already dismal) Russian-US relations.”

The Russian Federation champions media freedom, America perhaps heading toward banishing it altogether, wanting nothing conflicting with the official narrative.

“Where is reaction of authoritative international organizations advocating journalists’ rights? Will we ever hear resolute protests from the OSCE,” Russia’s embassy asked?

Democracy in America is pure fantasy. Fascist police state governance replaced it, threatening everyone everywhere.

One Response to Tyranny in America

  1. Given that there is a troika (junta?) of generals surrounding a feckless POTUS and are reportedly denying access to him, given that habeas corpus (regarded since the middle ages as the minimum basis of for civil government) has been abolished, given that posse comitatus has been repealed, given that there is a domestic Army command (USNORTHCOM) training for crowd control and civil action in this country, given that our increasingly militarized and often violent domestic police forces are almost entirely unaccountable, given that we live under the most complete system of total surveillance in history, Mr. Lendman’s charge that democracy in America is a pure fantasy, having been replaced by fascist police state governance, does not appear far off the mark. Few seem to notice the tightening noose.
