Manufacturing a nonexistent Iranian threat

If all nations were governed like Iran, peace and stability would replace global wars everywhere, swords turned into plowshares.

No terrorist threats would exist. Nuclear weapons and the threat they represent would be gone. Yet a nation seeking peace and mutual cooperation with other countries is falsely demonized as a regional threat.

It proves that the power of propaganda repeated endlessly by media giants convinces most people to believe almost anything no matter how contrary to reality.

A recent Gallup poll showed over 80% of Americans view Iran unfavorably. According to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll, around half of US respondents believe the Trump regime will attack Iran militarily, 54% calling the Islamic Republic a “serious” or “imminent” threat—despite no evidence suggesting it, just the power of propaganda pounded into the public mind.

Trump, Pompeo, Bolton, acting US War Secretary Shanahan, and their subordinates are militantly hostile toward Iran. So is nearly the entire Congress in deference to Israel, a regional and global menace, not the Islamic Republic.

Bipartisan hardliners in Washington falsely accuse Tehran of arming, financing, and otherwise aiding regional terrorist groups it opposes and is involved in aiding Syrian government forces combat them.

Its ruling authorities support Hamas, Hezbollah, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and Islamic Jihad—groups falsely designated terrorist organizations by the State Department at the behest of Israel.

Iran is the region’s leading proponent of peace and stability. It has no nuclear weapons program, deplores these weapons, wanting them eliminated everywhere.

Claims otherwise are bald-faced Big Lies. The nuclear watchdog IAEA affirmed Iran’s full compliance with the 2015 JCPOA nuclear deal time and again.

Trump’s unlawful pullout breached the international agreement, unanimously affirmed by Security Council members, making it binding international and US constitutional law under its Supremacy Clause (Article VI, Clause 2).

Iran has been falsely accused of all sorts of wrongdoing it had nothing to do with, including (nonexistent) ties to (US-created and supported) al-Qaeda, (nonexistent) killings of US military personnel, even involvement in 9/11, the CIA/Mossad staged mother of all false flags.

Throughout Islamic Republic history since its 1979 revolution, ending a generation of US-installed fascist rule, Iran never attacked another country, threatening none now.

Yet all sorts of false accusations against the country are manufactured—because of its sovereign independence, support for Palestinian rights, and opposition to Washington’s imperial agenda, featuring endless wars of aggression against nations threatening no one.

Is Iran next on its target list? What’s unlikely is possible because of hardliners in charge of Trump’s geopolitical agenda, along with the vast majority of congressional members and major media hostile to the country.

In mid-May, the NYT asked, Will Iran revive its nuclear [weapons] program”—what it never had and abhors. Annual US intelligence community assessments of global threats affirm the nonexistence of an Iranian nuclear weapons program. So does the IAEA.

Separately, the Times reported the myth of Iran being about a year of being able to produce a “bomb”—what Israel alone stockpiled in the region, information suppressed by the Times and other major media, its open secret the world community has known for decades.

In mid-May, the neocon/CIA house organ Washington Post said, It’s up to [the] Israelis to stop Iran’s nuclear program,” urging the Jewish state to bomb its legal nuclear facilities with no military component.

Iran is the world’s most heavily monitored country despite operating legally and threatening no other nations.

The US and Israel permit no monitoring of their nuclear weapons or other military facilities, despite the extreme danger they pose to world peace and stability.

WaPo turned truth on its head, falsely claiming in the aftermath of Trump’s JCPOA pullout, “it appears increasingly probable that Iran will speed up its race to build a nuclear weapon”—not a shred of evidence suggesting it.

In late March, the Wall Street Journal cited a falsified Trump regime claim it failed to debunk about a [nonexistent] Iranian plan “to resume work on nuclear weapons” it never began, adding: It’s “poised to restart work [sic] and is using front companies [sic] to buy materials from Russia and China that could be used to” build the “bomb,” [sic] citing Big Lies by Trump regime officials.

False claims about nonexistent Iranian ties to terrorist groups and wanting the “bomb” could be used as pretexts to attack the country if Trump goes along with rage by Bolton and Netanyahu to go this far.

On Monday, Al Jazeera headlined: [Are] “the US media beating the drums of war on Iran?”

The country is “back in the news,” featuring “[h]yped-up headlines [and] ‘anonymous’ sources,” adding, “It wouldn’t be the first time the US media…made the case for war on the basis of vague, anonymously sourced intelligence”—later proved fake, how all US wars are unjustifiably justified.

Manufactured Big Lies about Iran, trumpeted by establishment media repeatedly get most people to believe them.

Attacking Iran would be madness, destabilizing the region more than already, perhaps becoming the mother of all quagmires.

If Russia intervenes as it did to combat US-supported terrorists in Syria, the risk of global war would be greatly heightened.

  1. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine calls in an urgent action for the friends of Palestine, movements for justice and liberation and the Palestinian and Arab communities everywhere in the world to stand with Gaza under attack at this critical moment.

  2. Al Qaeda’s Worldview. Following Azzam’s assassination, the ideological vacuum in al-Qaeda was filled by Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri. A well-known hardliner, Zawahiri became the principal strategist of the jihad movement, transforming bin Laden and al-Qaeda significantly.
