Establishment media indifference toward Israeli terror-bombing of Gaza

For 11 straight nights, the Netanyahu regime has been waging undeclared war on Gaza—terrorizing its two million people.

The NYT, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal reported nothing about what’s going on.

Nor have Fox News, MSNBC, CNN or National Pentagon Radio (NPR).

When unidentified Gazans launch incendiary balloons or fire crude homemade rockets at Israel in self-defense, the Netanyahu regime falsely blames Hamas for what it had nothing to do with.

According to establishment media, victims of US, NATO, and Israeli aggression are responsible for high crimes committed against them.

Israel’s blockade of Gaza since 2007 is a perpetual act of war.

Under international law, blockades are defined as:

  • Surrounding a nation with hostile forces.
  • Measures to isolate an enemy.
  • Encirclement and besieging a nation-state.
  • Preventing the passage in or out of supplies, military forces or aid in time of or as an act of war.
  • An act of naval warfare to block access to an enemy’s coastline and deny entry to all vessels and aircraft.

Israeli terror-bombing and shelling Gaza are acts of war on its two million residents—with no place to take refuge for safety and no help from the international community, supporting Israeli aggression by ignoring it.

Dwight Eisenhower, Jack Kennedy, and other past US presidents called blockades acts of war.

Republicans and Dems one-sidedly support Israel’s highest of high crimes.

Hamas and other Palestinians throughout the territories pose no threat to Israel.

Blockading the Strip is solely for political reasons, unrelated to Israeli security.

Imposing it is a flagrant breach of international law – an Israeli specially, ignoring the UN Charter, other international laws, and Security Council rulings against its actions.

Israel repeatedly commits the highest of high crimes of war and against humanity with impunity because the world community does nothing to hold its ruling authorities accountable.

According to Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR), there’s been scant mention of daily Israeli terror-bombing strikes on Gaza.

When reported, it’s considered Israel’s divine right, defenseless Palestinians the bad guys.

No mention is made of the disparity between Israeli state-of-the-art aerial, ground, and naval weapons v. homemade Gazan incendiary balloons and rockets—nothing about over 13 years of suffocating/illegal blockade that’s inflicting misery on Strip residents.

Reports by Israeli media are entirely one-sided.

On Saturday, the Times of Israel repeated the Netanyahu regime Big Lie about democratically elected Hamas, falsely calling it a “terror group.”

It quoted former IDF chief of staff/current Israeli war minister Benny Gantz, saying:

“The IDF is ready. It defends (sic) and will continue to defend the residents of the south (sic) and will attack anyone who attacks us and deliver a very harsh blow.”

In response to nightly terror-bombing attacks, Hamas issued a statement, saying, “Israel must bear the consequences and pay the price for the continued aggression against Gaza, the tightening of the siege, the disruption of the lives of residents, and the bombing of resistance facilities,” adding, “The resistance clarifies that it will not hesitate to wage a campaign against Israel if the escalation and bombings continue.”

Alternative media are the only reliable sources of news and analysis on all major issues.

On Saturday, the Middle East Eye reported that Israeli terror-bombing attacks continued overnight since August 6, no signs of them letting up.

The Netanyahu regime threatened greater escalation, including cross-border shelling already begun.

Egyptian brokered ceasefire talks continue. Al-Monitor reported that the Netanyahu regime rejected Hamas demands that include:

Increasing the offshore Gazan fishing zone in its own waters to 20 miles.

Increasing numbers of work permits for Israel to help relieve over 50% unemployment in the Strip.

Providing enough fuel for Gaza’s power plant to operate that’s vital for households, agriculture, business operations, and hospitals.

The International Middle East Media Center reported that “heavy [Israeli] bombardment of” Gaza continued overnight Friday, “causing heavy destruction…west of Gaza City, to homes, [and] agricultural farmlands east of Gaza City,” adding, “For nearly two weeks now, Israel has been bombarding and shelling the coastal enclave, as well as tightening the already strict siege.”

“The Israeli military is using excessive force on a population with no army, no navy, and no air-force.”

Will the Netanyahu regime escalate things to full-blown Gaza war 4.0 since December 2008?

It’s likely being considered to distract attention from large-scale protest demands that he step down because of serious corruption charges against him.

On Tuesday, the IRGC warned that lack of power and undeclared Israeli war on the Strip are taking a heavy toll on its already crumbling healthcare sector.

Two million Gazans suffer from Israel’s repressive boot with no relief in prospect from a regime as vicious toward Palestinians as Nazis were against Jews.
